WHY I CHOSE PODCAST - HOW IT CONTRIBUTES TO MY MEDIA PROFESSION

MY DECISION AND IMPLICATIONS FOR CHOOSING AUDIO PODCAST                                                  AND MULTIPLE SPEAKERS

MULTIPLE INTERVIEWEES

The issues the society cannot be addressed by one individual because one individuals’ view can be biased and I believe that collaborated story is more credible. That points to my reason for choosing multiple speakers whom I interviewed.

Society’s problems are too big and complex for one person to solve or explain alone. If only one person shares their opinion, it might be one-sided or influenced by their personal experiences. No matter how knowledgeable they are, they can’t represent everyone’s views.

That’s why I chose to include multiple speakers in my project. By interviewing different people, I can share a variety of perspectives and make the story more balanced and fairer. Hearing from different voices helps create a clearer, more complete picture of the issues.

Each person I interviewed brings their own experiences and ideas, making the conversation richer and more relatable. This way, more people can see themselves in the story, and it feels more real and trustworthy.

Involving multiple people makes the story more honest and helps it connect with a wider audience, rather than feeling biased or one-sided.

WHY AUDIO?

I chose to focus on audio content for a very clear reason. Audio is easy to share and can reach a lot of people quickly. I also thought about the current tough economic times. Audio is cheaper to download and share compared to video, which uses more data and costs more. This makes it easier for people to afford my content without worrying about high costs, i.e. buying expensive mobile data.

Another advantage is that audio can be played on radio stations, like MMU Radio, we have many other radios in Nairobi, which helps reach even more people, including those who may not have internet access. Whether it is through radio or online, audio makes it possible for my message to reach different audiences.

In short, I chose audio because it is affordable, easy to access, and can reach a wider audience, helping more people hear my message without any extra financial strain.

IMPLICATIONS

Building trust

Including multiple voices on my podcast the content becomes more reliable and can be trusted. When different people share their views, it shows that issues are real and that they affect great mass and not just an individual. In this way trust with audience is created. This collaborative approach leaves a stronger impression

Reaching Broader audience

Featuring multiple speakers makes content appealing to larger audience and making them to at least connect with at least one of the voices or viewpoints shared thus increasing the chances of engaging more people.

Fairness

Having different perspective helps avoid bias. There is avoidance of only one side of the story, presenting different angles thus balancing the content. If this is not done there is a possibility of criticism to the views that the content is one-sided of wants to propagated specific agenda.
