On June 18, 2025, the BEAMS Media Training Centre in Karen, Nairobi, celebrated the graduation of 36 youth aged 18 to 25 from some of Kenya’s most underprivileged communities. This milestone marked not just the end of a training programme, but the beginning of new opportunities, personal growth, and empowerment.

The graduates completed intensive hands-on training in media and creative arts, including videography, photography, graphic design, 3D printing, and music production. For many, this was their first encounter with professional tools and platforms, and they emerged with new confidence, creativity, and career-ready skills.

Beyond technical training, the programme emphasized environmental responsibility, engaging students in clean-ups and climate change awareness. This helped instill a sense of stewardship for the planet alongside their media education.

BEAMS also prioritized holistic personal development. Through sessions in communication, emotional resilience, time management, and public speaking, students gained essential life skills that prepare them to thrive in both professional and personal settings.

The graduation event showcased not only their achievements but also their potential to lead, innovate, and uplift their communities. The BEAMS model proves that when opportunity meets potential, transformation becomes possible, for individuals and for society at large.
